Wax Paper Valentines
writes, "Make a few of these dreamy cards to give to your very favorite Valentines!"
Materials:
Wax paper
Plain white paper
Scallop edge scissors
Regular scissors
Pretty paper, a scrap of pretty fabric, or a small piece of hand-drawn artwork
Glue or double-stick tape

1) Fold
Tear off a length of wax paper roughly 12" square. Fold it in half once, then fold it in half again {in the opposite direction} to make your card shape.

2) Trim
Using scallop scissors and keeping your card folded closed, trim the bottom and side edges {not the folded edges}. Here's a tip: Place a piece of plain white paper inside the card to stiffen the wax paper and make it easier to cut. Cut through all layers, then remove the plain white paper and save it for later.

3) Add Something Pretty
Find a pretty magazine page, a scrap of fabric, or an old watercolor painting you don't mind cutting. Cut a piece small enough to fit inside the front layers of your wax paper card. Glue or tape it between the layers of wax paper, so it can be seen when the card is closed.

4) Add A Note
Using your leftover plain white paper, cut a small piece to be visible inside your card. Trim the edges with your scallop edge scissors, if you like. Write a little Valentine message, then glue or tape it between the back layers of your card, so it can be seen when the card is open.

Another Idea:
Instead of pretty paper or fabric for the front, you could use something that hints to another gift. For example: a piece of a menu or two movie tickets.

Happy Valentine's Day!
